NIV Holy Bible for Girls, Journal Edition, Hardcover, Turquoise, Elastic Closure

This is such a beautiful Bible from Zondervan. My 6 year old absolutely loves reading this one over her other Bibles. The cover is attractive and enticing to a little girl that loves all things girly. But it is also perfect for an older girl because the cover is also very mature. I love that the cover is one that could really grow with a child for years.
We love that there are lines on every page for writing and taking notes. The font is small, but seems perfect for a child with great vision. I like that it has the typical ribbon book marker, but also has an elastic to keep the Bible closed to contain any papers that are put into it.
My daughter is very intrigued with measurements and has a blast looking at the table of weights and measures in the back to compare the many weights found throughout the Bible.
The pages are a great thickness to keep ink from bleeding through too much, but I am very picky about what pens I use to keep from bleeding through the pages. A colored pencil highlighter works great as does pencils. I would not use pens though.
I highly recommend this Bible for young girls and even older girls as they would all benefit from the design of this Bible. If you are looking for a Bible to grow up with your child, then this is definitely the one!

Time with God for Mothers

Time with God For Mothers is a small devotional written to encourage and offer guidance to mothers. Each page is beautifully illustrated with jewelry from Elly Preston of The Purple Door and offers scripture and a short paragraph of encouragement or direction for the many things that mothers deal with or go through daily. At the front of the book is a Table of Contents that makes it easier to find a particular topic within the book.

The book is definitely geared toward mothers and the things that impact mothers. Each little devotion will take only a minute or two to read, which is extremely important for busy mothers.

I really like how well each devotion is put together and the thought that was put into finding the perfect words to say to mothers. It is a very focused and encouraging book. The design of the book is very warm and inviting. The message on each page is a clear spiritual message that tells mothers the things that they may desperately need to hear.

I would definitely recommend this book to other mothers. Especially those mothers who are short on time but need a little encouragement each day.

Family Life Marriage Bible

This New King James Version Bible is a Bible for couples. It's great for couples who just got married, have been married for a long time, those with children and those without children. There are many tips for couples included in this Bible as well as devotions for couples. Also included in this Bible are biblically based answers to parenting questions.
I really like this Bible and the way it's put together. The many tips for couples give some great ideas for keeping a marriage strong and fresh. As a new parent, the questions for parenting a child in a Christian home will be very helpful in the future while raising our daughter.
I found this Bible to be very easy to use and really liked the index of features to make it easier to find the answers to whatever it may be that I need help. The devotions that are included are very thought provoking and also give ideas for bettering your marriage within the devotions. There is an introduction to each book in the Bible that gives some historical background and a preview of the book.
All together, this Bible seems very durable for its intended purpose. (Definitely not made for kids.) The print used in this bible is very easy to read.
I would definitely recommend this Bible to others!!

Rick and Bubba

Rick and Bubba's Guide to the Almost Nearly Perfect Marriage

What a fun book!! I read this book a while ago and am just now getting around to reviewing it. I was pretty sure when I started this book that I would like it. Rick and Bubba use humor to say what really needs to be said about marriage. The things that they say in this book are true and pretty spot on. It was definitely a book written for guys but easily read by anyone. I found myself laughing and agreeing with the book. The stories that they used as illustrations were great and really helped get the point across. I really enjoyed the fact that the book was based on biblical truths. If you're looking for an easy and quick read about marriage, then this book is for sure the one to read.

Fearless

Living in fear seems to be the norm these days. There is always a reason to fear something. But after reading this book, not really any more. In the book, I have learned that there is truly only one healthy, logical fear, and now it's not the current state of our world! It's God.
This book began working in me from page one. It really hit me the hardest during chapter 13 when it was talking about how things in the world are expected to get worse. This chapter reminded me yet again that all of these things that are happening right now in our world are not a surprise to God and were talked about in the Bible.
I have to say that this book really draws the reader in and refuses to let go until the very end. When I began to read this book, I just wanted to continue reading and had to force myself to put it down in order to accomplish anything else.
When I finished this book, I felt challenged to live my life with no fear. I need to put all of my trust in God, since He knows what's happening. I know that things may get tough, but I should just let Him work in my life instead of fear controlling my life.
Not only would I recommend this book to others, but I have already shared my copy of the book with a friend the moment I finished it. Thumbs up for another great book from Max Lucado!

The Noticer

I received this book for free from BookSneeze® for this review.

I finished reading The Noticer by Andy Andrews a couple of weeks ago and my perspective on things surrounding me has completely changed. I'm more apt to look for a different perspective of a situation. While reading the book, I could easily place myself in some of the situations and how I would have dealt with them before knowing that it just takes a little perspective to make the situation better. By the end of the book I was creating in my head the perspective that I thought Jones would be giving to the characters dealing with a particular situation. This book was definitely an easy read. Once you pick up the book, make sure that you have the time to finish it because it won’t be easy to stop reading. I started reading it and couldn’t stop until it was finished a couple hours later. Andy Andrews did a wonderful job of drawing the readers in and keeping their attention throughout the entire book. This is one of my best reads recently!
